Health Investor Awards 2009
It was announced, at a glittering award ceremony in London in the summer of 2009, that Glenside is the winner of the 2009 award in the category of Residential/Domiciliary Care Provider of the year. Health Investor, the leading magazine and website covering the healthcare business, hosts these annual awards to promote excellence and recognise innovation in the healthcare sector. The management and staff at Glenside are thrilled with the news.
Investors in People Award 2009
Glenside underwent a thorough re-assessment of this award in the Autumn of 2009, which included staff surveys and interviews. The management team were delighted when it was announced that once again, we had achieved the required standards to win the award. The IIP award recognises many aspects of Training and Development of staff and investing in our people.
Laing & Buisson Awards 2009
Glenside managed a remarkable 2nd in the L&B Independent Healthcare Awards 2009! The award (in the 'Innovation' category) recognised Glenside's pioneering and innovative CRT programme (Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy) which has been in place since January 2008. A programme which was initiated by two senior nurses at Glenside, who won a scholarship from the Florence Nightingale Foundation in 2006 to embark on a worldwide study of CRT in practice. The theories and methods have now been firmly embedded in the rehabilitation processes at Glenside.
Pinders Awards 2009
Glenside Hospital got to the final 3 entries for the 2009 Pinders Awards out of literally hundreds of entries but unfortunately, did not come away with the top prize. These awards recognise excellence in newly built healthcare businesses. In this instance, the architecture, planning and design work that went into Glenside Hospital was judged against the other entries.
RICS Awards Finalist 2008
Glenside reached the shortlist of the top 3 in the Community category of the RICS awards. RICS (Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors) seeks to recognise buildings of outstanding architectural design. The judges visited the site and recognised the Glenside Hospital, Horizon Close bungalows and the Horizon Centre as a ‘highly commended’ entry.
Nursing Times Top 100 2008
Popular Nursing publication, the Nursing Times awarded Glenside with an award for being among the ‘Top 100 organisations for Nurses to work for’. This includes both NHS and independent sectors and there was an increase in entries compared to last year.
Nursing Times Top 100 2007
Glenside was awarded the 2007 award from the Nursing Times. The Nursing Times commented, "This is a tremendous achievement which reflects well on your employment practices and as a reflection of how your employees feel about their place of work".
