Admission Criteria

The philosophy and ethos of our service centres around rehabilitation of Service Users living with an acquired or traumatic brain injury. As such prospective Service Users must have a history of either acquired or traumatic brain injury, which should be their primary diagnosis. Service Users with pre-existing mental health needs will be considered on an individual basis. We are unable to admit Service Users who require detention under the Mental Health Act, or Service Users who will remain under a Section of the Mental Health Act.

Our service is tailored to the needs of adults between the ages of 18 and 55. Service Users are generally admitted to our services for a period of assessment and rehabilitation prior to a community discharge to supported or independent living. However, we recognise that some Service Users may never regain the necessary skills to re-intergrate into the community, even with support and assistance. We are able to offer long term, continuing care facilities for this group of Service Users.
