Dementia Care Elderly Care Salisbury
The transition from elderly care to specialise in neuro rehabilitation services has been a gradual change and began in response to requests from medical professionals and Primary Care Trusts to accommodate individuals with long-term neurological conditions who were living in Wiltshire and surrounding regions. Whilst we continue to provide dementia care to existing residents, we are no longer accepting any new referrals to our Limetree facility for dementia care. Limetree is changing to form part of our neuro behavioural pathway and will provide long-term maintenance rehabilitation for those with progressive neurological conditions who require 24 hour nursing care. It will work in conjunction with Old Vicarage that provides provides slow-stream rehabilitation for patients who continue to exhibit challenging behaviour. The provision of dementia care for the elderly was originally one of the main specialist services to be offered by Glenside. The transition from elderly care to specialise in neuro rehabilitation services means that we no longer accept new admissions for dementia care.
