Glenside launches new residential service
Glenside Manor Healthcare Services, a leading specialist independent healthcare provider, has announced a brand new neuro-rehabilitation service in Hampshire.
With its headquarters in Salisbury, Glenside has long been associated with high quality and innovative care and support for people living with long-standing neurological conditions such as acquired or traumatic brain injuries.
Glenside Farnborough, the first development of its kind by the company, will offer a care pathway and creative residential living opportunities to 22 people.
Julie Kilgour, Business Development Director at Glenside, said: “The focus and aim of the service is independence. It will provide an evidence-based model of service delivery which integrates both cognitive and physical rehabilitation. All levels of staff are trained in the principles and approaches of cognitive rehabilitation which enables them to provide a structured and consistent approach.
“For those coming to the end of their personal journey in Neurological services, this is a safe and vibrant place to regain or re-learn those skills and get back into the community meaningfully – all helping people return to their own homes or to move on to more independent living at their own pace.
“Glenside’s Salisbury site has more than 20 years of experience in providing the very best care and support for people living with long-term neurological conditions and Glenside Farnborough offers an extension to the care pathway. The service continues the rehabilitation pathway through rehabilitation and re-enablement with a particular emphasis on gaining new skills and supporting people to regain lost function.
“Glenside Farnborough has at its core the values, ethos and expertise of Glenside Salisbury, where already more than 50% of service users return home or move to supported living after receiving rehabilitative care.”
A variety of different living options ranging from apartments and studios to individual en-suite bedrooms offer a care pathway under one roof. Service users will be supported in regaining their independence by an experienced staff team including Allied Health Professionals in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology and speech and language therapy - therefore therapy begun in more acute services can continue meaningfully as each person moves along their individual care pathway.
The service is set to open in late Spring. An Open Day and Educational Seminar for professionals will be held at the service on April 24 2012. Places are limited so please contact Julie Kilgour on jkilgour@glensidemanor.co.uk or contact the enquiry line on 0330 123 9263.
