Neuro Behavioural
Patients with neuro behavioural problems benefit from rehabilitation across a number of wards and homes within the neuro behavioural pathway.
In the Ebble Ward patients with challenging behaviour are admitted for assessment and treatment. Working with Clinical Neuropsychologists, our Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine develop tailored neuro behavioural treatment programmes. In Ebble Ward, Patients benefit from a 1:1 staff-to-patient ratio in a purpose-built ward with fixtures and fittings that are designed to minimise the risk of harm, which include specially weighted furniture and an individually controlled power supply to each bedroom.
Nadder is the step down ward within the neuro behavioural pathway. Here, those with mild to moderate challenging behaviour receive treatment that focuses on behavioural and social development. Expert staff use neuro-behavioural interventions that aim to reduce, control or eliminate challenging behaviour.
Old Vicarage and Limetree long-stay homes complete the neuro behavioural pathway. Here, programmes focus on teaching socially acceptable behaviour and programmes include social and recreational activities underpinned by positive behavioural approaches. 24-hour nursing care is provided.
